WHO ARE WE?

First of all, we have Waldi. He is the fisherman of the house and the friendly person, who takes our guests on fishing trips, and is on site for all thing accommodation, checking in, and helping out.

Wherever Waldi is, is Lucky not far.

Lucky? That is the ball-addicted, cute black dog. Well-known by everyone in Henties Bay. Lucky was rescued in Cape Town, where he was tied to a shopping trolley as a puppy. We adopted him and look how he turned out! He is great with other dogs, but adores children like crazy. He is Waldis shadow and always there, where the ocean meets the beach. Spoiled to say the least.

And then there is Elke - The person behind the scenes. Luckys mommy and Waldis life partner. She runs the website, Facebook page, and takes on a majority of the bookings. Although she lives and works in WIndhoek, her heart is in Henties Bay with her little family.

This is us. We took our little coastal accommodation dream and turned it into reality and we are excited to welcome guests to our ideal way of living. Ocean air, salty feet, and fish on the braai.

Why "Gone Fishing?"

We really struggled to find a name that is not over used but represents us 100%. And since Waldi's life consists of fishing (and lucky and me a little bit) we decided Gone Fishing Accommodation is the perfect collective for self-catering accommodation offering and fishing trips within Henties Bay. And apart from that, everytime I try to reach Waldi, he's gone fishing... again.
